Rütistrasse – Marble and Oak for a House with History

For a house more than 100 years old at Rütistrasse 15 in Zollikon, Studio Hajnos has transformed the entire house into a beautiful, cohesive concept. We were able to supply the marble for the entrance area and the kitchen, as well as the oak flooring on the upper floor.

About the Project

A house with more than a hundred years of history deserves an overall concept that does justice to that history. Studio Hajnos carried out the entire renovation of Rütistrasse 15 in Zollikon with great sensitivity and a clear eye for design – a house that preserves its historic character while reinterpreting it.

We were able to supply the marble for the entrance area and the kitchen: a traditional, almost timeless combination of Biancone, a creamy white natural stone with a warm vanilla tone, and the rich red of Rosso di Verona. The result is a floor with the character of an inlay – the red stones sit like small accents in the pale surface and lend the entrance an elegance familiar from classic, stately homes.

Upstairs, things become warmer and more homely: here we contributed an oak floor, developed in a bespoke colour especially for this house. Around 70 m² of oak in long-plank format give the rest of the spatial concept a calm, warm note and carry the character of the old building forward in a modern way.

A project that shows how much care it takes to give a historic building a new, coherent material language – carried by the design of Studio Hajnos and refined with stone and wood tailored entirely to the house.
