About Mosaic
Mosaic is the art of creating something great from small details. Each individual element unfolds a special depth and vibrancy through the interplay of light, shadow and texture. What at first glance appears to be a simple surface reveals, up close, its own fascinating rhythm.
Mosaic offers creative freedom: sometimes as a subtle accent in niches and bathrooms, sometimes as a bold statement across entire walls. The variety of materials – from shimmering glass to warm wood – opens up countless possibilities for creating atmospheric spaces.

Glass and ceramic mosaics are the most common bathroom choices. Glass reflects light well and works beautifully in showers and around baths, but requires careful grouting and cleaning to avoid residue build-up. Natural stone mosaic adds warmth but needs sealing, especially in wet areas, as stone is porous. Ceramic mosaic is the most low-maintenance of the three. Hochwert Library helps you match material to room conditions.

At the Hochwert Library showroom, Rotbuchstrasse 83, 8037 Zurich — by appointment only. A selection of mosaic patterns across all five material categories is on display and available to touch. The first consultation is always free of charge.

Yes, you can! You can send us an email or call us with your request, after which we will send a quotation with the requested materials. However, we recommend coming by in person to experience the materials live.

Yes, and this is one of the most effective ways to use mosaic. A glass mosaic accent within a natural stone wall, or a crystal mosaic border within a ceramic field, creates visual interest without complexity. The key is scale and restraint. Hochwert Library has multiple mosaic collections in the showroom so you can physically lay samples next to each other and judge the combination before committing.
