The Elysium Institut represents a new generation of preventive and longevity medicine: a Swiss boutique and concierge clinic specialising in advanced Apheresis⁺ procedures, precision diagnostics and science-based longevity and preventive medicine. At its heart is a holistic approach to healthspan, cardiovascular resilience, cognitive performance and aesthetic prevention – an ambience that feels more like an exclusive wellness retreat than a conventional practice. The interior design is by Iria Degen, whose clear sense of material and spatial effect is reflected in every detail of the Institut. It was precisely in this tension between clinic and sanctuary that we were able to contribute with our material selection.

For the reception and staircase areas, the COSMIC 0012 + LED wall panel from Kandes was used – and the result is simply impressive. The circular relief structure runs as a continuous element from the entrance, up the sweeping spiral staircase and into the upper floors, lending the entire space a sculptural, almost floating lightness.

Kandes is a Swiss brand that we carry at the Hochwert Library, and one we particularly enjoy working with. The gypsum panels are made of pure, untreated natural gypsum, naturally regulate humidity, are non-combustible (fire protection class A1) and can be fully painted over. For an environment like the Elysium Institut, where well-being meets the highest standards of material and craftsmanship, exactly this combination of naturalness, precision and design depth was decisive. The result is a reception area that lets visitors sense, the moment they enter, that everything here has been thought through down to the last detail.
